Planes Beyond – What’s Coming in Fall 2025

As we grow and expand operations one of the things we consistently talk about is what is the “lore” behind VRTX, if you haven’t noticed we’re massive nerds here so we always have plenty of inspiration to draw from.

We initially started with our Neo Tokyo futurefunk show as the start of our “plane” or “channel” for VRTX. What supposed to be a “one of” futurefunk themed show quickly spawned the idea of continuity within our shows as we bounced ideas back and forth it became apparent we’re on to something.

We use our TVs a lot for our production and we realized what better way to build “lore” and “continuity” than with our TVs, with each show being a particular broadcast.

So we started with Neo Tokyo as our “saturday anime” series with great success and although Neo Tokyo was a well received show we’ve leaned too heavily into the anime aesthetic. Soon after we had done “After Dark” our take on late night toonami series which was also met with positive reception but it was again MORE anime; which don’t get me wrong I love the anime aesthetic but everyone else in Houston was leaning heavy into it so we needed a way to take a break from it and come up with something unique.

We did a lot of brainstorming trying to figure out how to pitch shows to each other and how to style a theme around a show until we came up with the idea of using the TVs as a framing device. The TVs are a portal to our shows, as you the viewer, channel surf through them finding something you like.

It allows us to pursue everything from anime shows to cooking shows, horror, and more. Once we’ve figured out how to present these ideas it became much easier pitching shows so now we have a list of themed shows we really want to announce but just like any good tv series we have to build hype.

Until next time, thanks for tuning in!
